Cute Crochet Baby Dress

I can't wait for Spring .........

In the meantime I just need to cheer myself up with dreaming !

This cute little crochet baby dress is helping. The lovely bright splash of yellow reminds me of spring flowers. And it makes a nice change from girly pink.

I based this on a vintage crochet pattern ~ Lister Nursery Time No. 2059

DK yarn, 4mm hook
I made a few alterations, and I am really happy with the result.

Grow Your Blog 2014

Hello Everyone ~ and Welcome to my little corner of Blogland

I have just joined in with Grow Your Blog 2014 -
hosted by Vicki at 2 Bags Full.

Almost 500 bloggers have joined in this international 'Party' Event.

It's a great way to discover new blog sites. I just had a little look at a few and I have seen some very inspiring ideas already!

If you are new to my blog then I welcome you very warmly.

My name is Marianna ~ and this is my 100th blog post!

I started blogging a year ago and my blog has given me a huge amount of joy.

I love craft of all types - particularly yarn crafts - including knitting & crochet - and I spend a ridiculously silly amount of time looking at others creative ideas and projects.

I love to design my own knitting and crochet pattern designs
as well as to use others patterns I see and like.

My blog is my way of making note of my creations, and sharing my pattern instructions with other crafters. All my patterns are free.

Why not have a look around?
And of course ~ if you like what you see ~ please leave me a comment or follow my blog.
That would make me very happy!

Here is the link for a photo gallery of my projects in 2013 ~

Emily's Baby Cardigan Jacket

My friend's daughter has just had her first baby and there is great excitement in the family.

I love making baby clothes ~ and wanted to give her a little gift ~ so I designed and made this jacket with a lacy cable panel on each front.

It won't fit her for a while yet, but my friend has been on a bit of a shopping spree lately and has bought lots of newborn clothes!

I thought it would be better to make something in a bigger size.

I hope I get a cuddle with baby Emily soon

Aran Weight Stashbuster Knee Blanket

I had a quite a lot of 'bits' of aran weight yarn in my stash and never seemed to find a project for using it -
so I decided to make a simple granny square knee blanket to keep an elderly lady's knees warm.

aran weight yarn granny square knee blanket

I made a centre panel in bold colours, alternating with cream, then continued with alternating rounds of beige & cream,
before finishing off with a bold border.

This has been a satisfying project - I am happy with the result -
Margaret loved her blanket
and I used up 498g of aran yarn from my stash.

Simple Garter Stitch Baby Blanket

This simple little baby blanket is made in four triangular parts, then joined together.

It is very easy and quick to make.

Colour change yarn makes it look really pretty -
I used a very reasonably priced multi colour DK yarn which I bought at The Works

Pattern

Make four triangles the same. For each triangle -

Using 4mm needles, and any DK yarn, make a slip knot for the first stitch

1st Row:   Knit into the front and back of the first stitch  (2sts)
2nd Row:  Knit into the front and back of the first st, k1  (3sts)
3rd Row:   Knit into the front and back of the first st, k2  (4sts)
4th Row:   Knit into the front and back of the first st, k3  (5sts)

Continue in this manner, increasing one stitch on the first stitch of every row, until the length required.

Join the four triangles.

I added a cute little crochet flower to the centre, and made a crochet border using two rows of treble crochet to finish it off.
